A Strong History
Learning Discipline
Cam began his leadership journey out of high school by joining the Army ROTC program at Clarkson University. While he always believed he was a natural leader, he quickly realized that true leadership starts with learning to follow — listening, observing, and understanding how a team functions before trying to guide it. ROTC taught him the value of discipline, accountability, and teamwork, showing that effective leaders earn respect by serving their team first. This experience laid the foundation for the servant-focused, results-oriented leadership he brings to every challenge today.

Learning Service
As a firefighter and EMT during college, Cam discovered the true meaning of selfless service. Responding to emergencies meant putting others first — dropping everything to answer the call and stepping into situations where lives were at risk. These experiences demanded quick, effective problem-solving when things went wrong and there was no room for hesitation. Service in these moments shaped Cam’s belief that real leadership begins with responsibility to others, and that solving problems requires clarity, commitment, and compassion.

Learning Leadership
While learning these lessons of service, Cam also stepped into leadership through Clarkson University’s student government. Starting as a student representative and growing into the role of student body president, he gained experience leading committees, spearheading policy efforts, and guiding student initiatives. Along the way, Cam mentored developing leaders, navigated university wide crisis, and learned the importance of self-regulation — separating the needs of his position from his own self-interest. These experiences deepened his understanding that leadership is about responsibility, accountability, and empowering others to succeed.

Service Today
Today, Cam continues that journey of leadership and service as part of the Engineering Leadership Program at General Dynamics Mission Systems, where he tackles complex challenges that demand a combination of technical knowledge, understanding of interrelations, and collaboration. Living and working in Pittsfield, he has become deeply invested in the future of Ward 2 and the city as a whole. Seeing both the problems Pittsfield faces and the ways it has tried to solve them, Cam brings a history and skillset ready to take on the city’s most complex and entrenched challenges.
As a neighbor living on North Street and moving daily through Ward 2, Cam experiences the city in the same way as the people he hopes to represent — walking its streets, supporting its businesses, and sharing in its challenges. This firsthand connection keeps him grounded and ensures his ideas are rooted in the real needs of the community. At the same time, his fresh perspective as a newcomer to city politics allows him to bring new energy, unclouded judgment, and a focus on solutions that work.
For Cam, City Council is the best way to serve his community — a place where his service, problem-solving, and leadership can make a direct impact on the city he calls home. Guided by the lessons of following, serving, and leading, Cam is committed to delivering practical solutions and building a stronger, more connected Pittsfield.
